Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year because it reminds us to give thanks and to count our blessings. Suddenly, so many things become so little when we realize how blessed and lucky we are. (Joyce Girauld)
As a member of the the IBEW we are truly blessed and have much to be thankful for. We work together toward a common goals of improving our economic and safety situations. Collective Bargaining, higher wages, support, a voice at work, equality and fairness, job security, a stronger economy, better training, health and safety are all things we are blessed with as members of a union. Sometimes those things are even taken for granted. Take time to reflect on how blessed you really are over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Reflect upon the special moments and people that were part of your life this past year.
The holiday season is also a time we have more distractions added to our lives. More things to think about, more things to fit in our schedules. The weather is more challenging, and people sometimes are a little less patient. So remember to stay focused on safety for you, your co-workers and of course your family. Don't be distracted, plan ahead and give yourself extra time to accomplish your goals. An accident of any type can change your life forever.
May you be bestowed upon with the best of everything and have the strength to surpass any obstacle.
