During these early years, 11 locals were chartered with the IBEW as energy and utility workers organized across New York:

  • Local 249: Geneva
  • Local 945: Liberty
  • Local 951: Plattsburg
  • Local 961: Ithaca
  • Local 966: Lancaster
  • Local 992: Oneonta
  • Local 994: Brewster
  • Local 1111: Elmira
  • Local 1125: Binghamton
  • Local 1126: Hornell
  • Local 1143: Chatham

1937 to 1941

1941

Shortly after the formation of these 11 locals, System Council U7 was formed to unify the governing bodies of the locals representing the working body of NYSEG.

More than a half-century after their formation, Local 83 was chartered due to the amalgamation of Locals 945, 951, 961, 992, 994, 1111, 1125, and 1126.

2014

Nearly a decade ago Local 10 was chartered due to unification of Locals 83, 249, 966, and 1143.

Today, Local 10 continues to work for more than 1,600 energy and utility workers across the state.
